Found written on the wall in Mother Teresa's home for children in Calcutta:

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered.
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.

Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies.

Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you.
Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight.
Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, will often be forgotten.
Do good anyway.

Give the best you have, and it will never be enough.

Give your best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God.

It was never between you and them anyway.

  1. Sister Tibs,

Didn't realise you have a blog! I shall note this in my list of ether cyber space bookmarks for future reference.

Nice blog layout too. Interesting post; I am determined to learn more about the Catholics as my Cousin (once removed) has converted from Anglicanism to Catholicism recently. And I also need to know more about Christianity as the pesky Messianic Jews are trying to evangelise my daughter at university. So the solution was for her to move in with said Cousin...

  2. Welcome David! It's not much of a blog, more a place for me to post the things that I ought to remember more often. The subject of patience and tolerance may appear here with depressing regularity, usually after I've lost my temper over yet another thing that I shouldn't have lost my temper over :)

  3. Oh yes, sister T, I am enjoying reading this blog. It is very difficult not to respond to provocative posters. I am learning my way through that. Happy blogging!
